Making Space was a series of participatory workshops in three distinct neighbourhoods in the Greater Vancouver area.
Charlotte Falk lead the group in activities that examine how spatial opportunities can be found through various site analysis techniques. Over the course of the three workshops, we will explore how existing site conditions interface with rudimentary materials and individual bodies, resulting in site-specific design interventions.
These events sought to democratize the ways in which residents interface with built environments as well as explore how spaces can be inclusively co-visioned. By promoting a dialogue which addresses the larger economic concern surrounding development and livable space, participants are encouraged to challenge accepted norms surrounding the urban climate.
Charlotte Falk is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and educator based in Vancouver. Her practice focuses on creative processes at the convergence of disciplines, analog and digital, and 2D/ 3D/ 4D, with an emphasis on how materiality, methodology, and technique impact not only process work, but also final outcomes.
